The Priory Bookshop

 

After the Church Hall fire in June 1993 a search was made for temporary accommodation for Church meetings and in particular Sunday Schools.

 

It was discovered that No 1 High Street was vacant and with the help and co-operation of Fr Russell Ingham arrangements were made to rent the property. It would include a Christian Bookshop and when the Church Hall was rebuilt the entire premises were taken over to become the shop. This certainly was the beginning of the policy of the “Church on the High Street”- a policy that is still valid today.

 

The shop first opened its door on Monday 11th October 1993.

 

We are members of the Booksellers Association. We also promote the sale of Book Tokens supplied by Book Tokens Limited.

 

All titles (religious or otherwise) can be obtained if the book is still in print. All we need is the 10 or 13 digit ISBN number, title and author. Why not try us? We also welcome Church and School orders.

 

We have a large selection of gifts suitable as presents not only for Birthdays and Christmas, but also for Easter, Baptism, Confirmation and Marriage.

 

We are grateful to all our voluntary helpers for all the time and effort that they too put into the shop. Without their support and encouragement we would not have been able to continue for all these years.
