April Message From Fr Simon

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Easter!

It was wonderful to see all those of you who managed to book into the Holy Week services. It was also wonderful that this year we were able, even with reduced numbers, to celebrate the great events that lie at the heart of the Christian Faith. Many people have spoken to me of the impact that Bishop Jonathan’s profound and accessible preaching had on them. Thank you everyone who worked so hard and put so much effort into the smooth running of the different liturgies of Holy Week.

Now we are preparing for our Annual Parochial Church Meeting on Tuesday 27th April at 7.30pm. We hope to hold it “in person” in the church. In order for this to happen, it is vital that everyone who wishes to attend should book themselves in via the registration form on our website by Friday 23rd April.  This is important because if it is clear that more people wish to come than we can accommodate in the church with the current restrictions, we need time to reorganize the meeting to take place on zoom.

Please pray for our Confirmation Candidates (13 junior candidates and 4 adults) as they prepare for their journey towards Confirmation and First Holy Communion on 13th May. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you at our Sunday and/or weekday Masses as we journey through Eastertide. Please let me know if you or someone you know cannot get to church and would like to receive Holy Communion at home.

My prayers and best wishes,

Fr Simon
