Notices Sunday 13th August 2020
Sunday and daily worship at St Martin’s in this current phase of the pandemic
To attend the Saturday 6pm Vigil Mass and the Sunday Masses it will be necessary to apply online via the website. If you are unable to access the internet please phone to the parish office between Monday and Thursday (9am to 1pm) until further notice. This is necessary because of the limited seating available while we have to observe distancing protocols. For weekday Masses where there will be less pressure on space it should be possible to simply turn up at the advertised times. A Sunday Mass will continue to be available on our website so that those who are unable to attend church can participate online. For the time being it will be a recording of the Saturday 6pm Vigil Mass. Eventually we hope to be able to livestream our Masses.
In order to accommodate the number of candidates we have this year, there will be a succession of three simplified Confirmation liturgies on the evening of 21st October. First Holy Communions will be at special Masses on successive days. Full details to follow.
Fr Yaro’s Ordination Gift
Donation envelopes are now available at the back of Church. Please post through the Parish Office letter box or donate here . Thank you.
Resumption of Activities in the Church Hall
We are in discussions with some of the organisations that use our Church Hall, including Soul Dance, about restarting their activities from Saturday, 5th September. This will be subject to each organisation submitting for our approval - and acting in accordance with - suitable risk assessments in relation to COVID-19.
Part of these risk assessments will be the need to maintain social distancing and to keep a register of contact details for Track & Trace purposes. For our part, we have agreed that, when these organisations are using the Hall, nobody else will enter the Hall unless there is an unavoidable reason.
If such an emergency arises and you need to enter the Hall while it is being used for an organised activity, you must:
· Wear a suitable face covering, unless exempted
· Notify your presence to one of the activity leaders and explain your reason for entering the Hall
· Provide your contact details to be recorded for up to 21 days for Track & Trace purposes.
Please note that this could result in you having to self-isolate should someone using the Hall be diagnosed with COVID-19.
Thank you for your cooperation.
